Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to be Catholic to live at Saint Anne Communities?

Absolutely not…Saint Anne Communities welcomes people of all faiths. We offer a beautiful on-site chapel, as well as a full-time pastoral care team, to meet your spiritual needs. We also provide Mass, Protestant services, and a variety of Bible studies to enrich the spiritual lives of our residents.

What is the difference between assisted living and nursing home care?

Assisted living care offers intermittent nursing care. Typically, this type of care is needed on a scheduled, as-needed basis. Nursing home care involves much closer monitoring and requires a nurse to be present 24 hours each day, with increased interventions.

How do I know when it is time for mom and dad to consider leaving their home?

It is always best to start your search for a retirement community before a medical crisis occurs, primarily because it is most beneficial for the potential resident to be involved in the search process. A good rule of thumb is to start this search when day-to-day tasks, such as preparing meals, taking medications correctly, dressing or bathing, managing finances, or general housekeeping are becoming more difficult.

Do you provide several different levels of care under one roof?

Yes! Saint Anne Communities at Randallia Place is considered a CCRC (Continuing Care Retirement Community). This simply means that Saint Anne Communities offers several levels of health care options at one campus. We offer:

  • Independent/Assisted Living apartments
  • 24-Hour Nursing Care
  • Specialized Memory Care
  • Rehabilitation Services
  • Transitional Care Services

Independent and Assisted Living apartments are offered at our Saint Anne Victory Noll campus in Huntington, Indiana.

Are you corporate owned or not-for-profit?

Saint Anne Communities is a not-for-profit facility and a service of the Fort Wayne-South Bend Diocese. That means we focus on providing the best possible care to the individuals entrusted to us. We treat each of our residents as family, and we want to meet and exceed the needs and expectations of each person in our care.

Is there a waiting list for your assisted living or nursing home care?

Yes, we occasionally experience full capacity at our different locations. Our waiting list varies, depending on your unique needs and desires. Possible factors affecting our waiting list include:

  • Level of care
  • Apartment floor plan or location
  • Private or semi-private nursing home room
  • Skilled care vs. intermediate needs
How do you know what level of care I might need?

A good place to start is by calling our admissions department, where you can ask some preliminary questions or schedule a tour. We’d love to hear your unique situation and help you choose which living option is best for you. Prior to admission, the director of nursing or a nurse manager meets with each prospective resident and key family members to determine your specific needs.

Am I allowed to come have lunch with Mom/Dad?

Definitely! Family and friends are invited to share a meal with their loved one at any time. We do request advanced notice (at least 24 hours) if more than two visitors will be joining a resident for a meal. This gives our staff time to prepare an additional table and food. Costs vary depending upon location – please check with dining services staff for current prices.

I live out of town, but want to come for a visit; can I borrow a room for a night or two?

Certainly! Both of our locations has a guest room available to residents’ friends and family members. This fully furnished room includes a queen sized bed, coffee maker, television with cable, and a private bathroom. In addition to the guest room, we have negotiated a discounted rate with a couple of local hotels. To inquire about guest room price and availability or to learn more about the nearby hotels, please contact the desired Campus:
