Saint Anne Communities has no positive or presumptive cases of COVID19. We are extremely grateful for this as we hear of other nursing homes in the area having confirmed cases. We keep all in our prayers during this frightening time.
We are working to keep residents contained in their rooms to the best of our abilities given the variety of resident needs and complexities. The Saint Anne’s Team has done a tremendous job of pulling together from every department. It is truly an ‘all hands on deck’ venture as everyone from every department is helping deliver room trays and engage with residents to help them not feel so isolated. Many of our team members have completed the state approved Personal Care Attendant (PCA) course. This course allows them to work as a CNA for the time being. This will be helpful if staff become ill, ensuring we have adequate staff to care for your loved ones. We have followed strict guidelines of any staff member who feels ill. A staff member with a fever or any of the COVID19 symptoms may not return to work until 7 days past the onset of symptoms and at least 3 days fever free without the use of fever reducing medications have passed.
We have increased our infection control protocols and now have every staff member who interacts with a resident or goes into a resident room wear a gown. All staff continue wearing masks and safety glasses.
As some may have heard from the Governor’s address today, 4/14/2020, the State is looking for facilities to become dedicated COVID19 facilities. Saint Anne’s will NOT become a COVID19 dedicated facility. We are much to large of a building with little to no ability to cohort residents in separate areas.
We do have an isolation area prepared in the building though incase we get cases. Our rehab wing, containing 8 available rooms, is sealed off and will be used for if we need to isolate residents due to having COVID19.
We are taking no outside admissions in an attempt to decrease the number of potential carriers coming into the building. If our current residents go to the hospital, we will be readmitting them.
We are now using only door 13 for all entering the building. This includes those dropping off medications or other resident needed items
As always, if you have any questions or concerns please call. We are here for you.
